Borns Jewish Studies Program

The Robert A. and Sandra S. Borns Jewish Studies Program (JSTU) supports the study of Jews and Judaism in all its forms, from antiquity to the present. Our program draws on many disciplines including Art History, Comparative Literature, English, Folklore and Ethnomusicology, Germanic Studies, History, Musicology, Near Eastern Languages and Cultures, Political Science, and Religious Studies. Modern and Biblical Hebrew language courses help students analyze and discuss texts and artifacts. Because of the interdisciplinary nature of the Jewish Studies Program, students enrolled in academic programs can structure coursework according to their specific areas of interest.

In addition to the academic programs below, students may also be interested in the Minor in Yiddish Studies offered through the Department of Germanic Studies.
