Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies

LTAM is a multi-departmental program offering integrated study opportunities to students planning careers in teaching, research, journalism, government, the humanities, and business. Recognizing the diverse goals of students, the Latin American and Caribbean studies faculty provides diverse formats and levels of study.
Students may complement their major field of study by earning a minor or certificate in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. The LTAM program introduces students to the anthropology, art, economics, folklore, geography, history, languages, literature, music, and politics of the region. These credentials are especially valuable to students preparing for professions in global affairs, international development, public service and related fields, as well as those who plan to pursue advanced study in the area or professional work in Latin America and the Caribbean
