The B.S. in Geological Sciences provides training for those who want to become professional geologists and seek careers in the application of earth sciences to the minerals, energy, and environmental industries as well as federal and state agencies, research laboratories, and postsecondary education.

Requirements

The major requires at least 39 credit hours (70–73 credit hours with the Addenda Requirements), including the requirements listed below.

Exceptions to and substitutions for major requirements may be made with the approval of the unit's Director of Undergraduate Studies, subject to final approval by the College of Arts and Sciences.
