4+1 College Pathway to the Master of Arts in Russian and East European StudiesRussian and East European Institute

Description

The Russian and East European Institute 4+1 Pathway offers undergraduate majors in the College of Arts and Sciences the opportunity to earn a MAster of Arts degree in only one year beyond the transitional four-year BA. Designed for studnets seaking to develop intellectual and professional expertise with a deep grounding in Russian and East European Studies, the five-year integrated program is open to students pursuing academic and research-oriented careers as well as those interested in a range of professional fields. including government, private business, and the non-profit sector. Advanced competence in Russsian and East European studies will make students highly competitive for further graduate study or employment in various sectors.

Pathway requirements

Students must satisfy all requirements for a baccalaureate degree in the College of Arts Sciences. While graduate courses are typically taken before completion of the baccalaureate degree, they cannot be applied to both the graduate and undergraduate degree. The courses will apply to the graduate degree once the baccalaureate degree has been conferred. Students must also satisfy all the University Graduate School's requirements for the Master of Arts in Russian and East European Studies.
