4+1 College Pathway to the Master of Arts in Sociology

Students on Summer 2021, Fall 2021, or Spring 2022 requirements SOC-PATH

The 4+1 Pathway to the Master of Arts in Sociology program provides students with training in sociological theory and research methods that will qualify them for positions in social science research organizations and/or that will enhance their prospects for admission to competitive sociology graduate programs. Students will gain hands-on research experience under faculty supervision, complete coursework tailored to their career goals, and prepare a Masters essay.

Requirements

Students must satisfy all requirements for a baccalaureate degree in the College of Arts Sciences. While graduate courses are typically taken before completion of the baccalaureate degree, they cannot be applied to both the graduate and undergraduate degree. The courses will apply to the graduate degree once the baccalaureate degree has been conferred. Students must also satisfy all the University Graduate School's requirements for the Master of Arts in Sociology.
