  • COLL-C 100 CIC CourseShare (1–6 cr.) Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) shared course. May be repeated with a different topic for a maximum of 6 credit hours.
  • COLL-C 101 Introduction to Chess (1 cr.) An introduction to chess including the rules, strategies, and history of the game. S/F grading.

The curriculum is intended for freshmen and sophomores, who will learn how scholars from the arts and humanities Breadth of Inquiry area frame questions, propose answers, and assess the validity of competing approaches. Writing and related skills are stressed. Credit given for only one of COLL-C 103 or COLL-S 103.

The curriculum is intended for freshmen and sophomores, who will learn how scholars from the natural and mathematical sciences Breadth of Inquiry area frame questions, propose answers, and assess the validity of competing approaches. Writing and related skills are stressed. Credit given for only one of COLL-C 105 or COLL-S 105.
  • COLL-C 107 Global Arts and Humanities (3 cr.) Introduces the arts as a critical component to global citizenship through the yearly global arts and humanities festival.
  • COLL-C 200 CIC CourseShare (1–6 cr.) Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) shared course. May be repeated with a different topic for a maximum of 6 credit hours.
  • COLL-C 222 Take Control: Strategies for Academic Success for the Student with Disabilities (1–4 cr.) P: Limited to students determined by the Office of Disability Services for Students (DSS) to be eligible for IU disability support services. Credits earned do not count toward graduation but do count toward a full-time course load of 12 credit hours per semester.. Offered as reasonable accommodation to students who, for disability-related reasons, require extra time to complete coursework. With consent of DSS, may be repeated for a maximum of 8 credit hours.
  • COLL-C 250 Ethics Bowl (2 cr.) P: Consent of the program coordinator. Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl is an academic competition in which students work in teams to develop positions on a variety of complex ethical scenarios. The team-based event emphasizes civil discourse and consensus building. Teams research and develop positions on cases in medicine, technology, professional ethics, interpersonal relationships and public policy. Students are required to offer coherent and succinct arguments that identify the central ethical dimensions of the cases under discussion and to give thoughtful consideration to alternative perspectives. May be repeated for a maximum of 16 credit hours.
