Collins Living-Learning Center

Founded in 1972, the Collins Living-Learning Center offers a small college experience within a research university. Collins consists of roughly 300 residents, including freshmen through seniors, who form a tight community in what many think are the most beautiful buildings on campus (located a stone's throw from the Indiana Memorial Union, Kelley School of Business, O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Luddy School of Informatics and Computing, Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture and Design, Psychological and Brain Sciences, The Media School, and close to many IU classroom buildings). Collins includes an Arts Council, Board of Educational Programming, Philanthropy and Action Council, Community Council, and other student groups that residents are welcome to join. Collins students make friends and flourish through arts activities, social events, as well as other academic and extracurricular programs. Students who wish to deepen their interests in sustainability or the arts and humanities have the option of applying to one of our two focused programs, SustainCollins and ACT Humanities (Action Community Thought). Collins LLC students enroll annually in one Collins course selected by residents during each of their freshman and sophomore years; all freshmen also enroll in a 1 credit hour, peer-taught workshop in residential learning.
