Double-Counting Courses (Unique Credit Hours)

Policy statement

Students may double-count up to six credit hours toward two or more College majors (including subcredentials), certificates, or minors.

In circumstances where a requirement remains unsatisfied due to the double-counting limit, an exception may be granted to consider the requirement satisfied based on successful completion of a course that would have otherwise counted. However, such an exception may not be applied to minimum credit hour requirements under any circumstances.

Requirements specifically designated as “Addenda” or “Additional” are not considered part of the major, certificate, or minor for the purposes of this policy.

There is no restriction on the number of credit hours that may be double-counted within the CASE curriculum.
