Departmental Honors
Students on Summer 2019, Fall 2019, or Spring 2020 requirements FRIT-HON
Requirements
Students must have a GPA of 3.500 or higher in their French or Italian courses in order to participate in the Departmental Honors program. Enrollment in FRIT-F 499 or FRIT-M 499 during the senior year is required (one or two semesters). Graduation with Departmental Honors requires a GPA of 3.500 or higher in a student's French or Italian coursework, and a College GPA of 3.300 or higher, at the time of graduation. Additional information and instructions on how to participate in the Departmental Honors program can be obtained from the academic advisor or the Director of Undergraduate Studies for French or Italian.
College of Arts and Sciences Requirements
- Students must have a College GPA of 3.300 or higher to qualify for admission to a Departmental Honors program and to receive Departmental Honors. Units may set a higher College GPA.
- Units establish additional criteria, including admissions procedures, academic performance standards, and whether there are required courses, papers, or projects.
- Students who wish to earn honors in two different units must complete a distinct body of work for each honors notation.
