Requirements
- Honors Courses. Complete the following with a grade of B or higher:
- Readings and Research for Honors. One (1) course:

- Senior Honors Thesis. One (1) course:

- Description
- Research and preparation of senior honors thesis.
- Repeatability
- May be repeated for a maximum of 6 credit hours.
- Readings and Research for Honors. One (1) course:
- Honors Thesis. Successfully complete an honors thesis based on independent research.
- Major GPA. Honors candidates must maintain a GPA of 3.500 or higher in the Gender Studies major.
- GPA, Hours, and Minimum Grade Requirements.
- Students must have a College GPA of 3.300 or higher to qualify for admission to a Departmental Honors program and to receive Departmental Honors. Units may set a higher College GPA.
- Units establish additional criteria, including admissions procedures, academic performance standards, and whether there are required courses, papers, or projects.
- Students who wish to earn honors in two different units must complete a distinct body of work for each honors notation.
Exceptions to and substitutions for honors requirements may be made with the approval of the unit's Director of Undergraduate Studies, subject to final approval by the College of Arts and Sciences.
Outstanding students majoring in gender studies who are interested in departmental honors should submit an application to the department no later than the second semester of the junior year. To be eligible for the honors track, a student must first complete at least 15 credits of Gender Studies courses with a minimum GPA of 3.500, and must also have a 3.300 GPA overall. Students must have approval from the director of undergraduate studies or chairperson to be eligible for the honors track and must maintain these grade point averages in order to receive departmental honors.
