- Independent guided reading.
- Repeatability
- May be repeated once for credit with a different topic.
- Honors Thesis. One (1) course:

- Consent of departmental honors advisor
- Description
- Guided research culminating in essay(s).
- Repeatability
- May be repeated for a maximum of 6 credit hours.
- Major GPA. A Religious Studies major grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.500 is required.
- College GPA. A College grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.300 is required.
Exceptions to and substitutions for honors requirements may be made with the approval of the unit's Director of Undergraduate Studies, subject to final approval by the College of Arts and Sciences.
Students who major in Religious Studies and have a minimum overall grade point average of 3.300 are eligible for the honors program in religious studies.
