Requirements
- Students admitted to the Art History honors program must complete the following.
- Courses. Both of the following with grade of A- or higher in each course:
- ARTH-A 400 Senior Seminar
- ARTH-A 499 Senior Honors Thesis

- Description
- Intensive examination of selected topics in art history. Open only to art history majors or with consent of instructor. Required for art history honors students.
- Repeatability
- May be repeated with a different topic for a maximum of 7 credit hours in ARTH-A 400 and FINA-A 400.
ARTH-A 499 Senior Honors Thesis

- Credit given for only one of ARTH-A 499 or FINA-A 499.
- GPAs. Have the following at graduation:
- Art History Major GPA of 3.500 or higher
- Courses. Both of the following with grade of A- or higher in each course:
- GPA, Hours, and Minimum Grade Requirements.
- Students must have a College GPA of 3.300 or higher to qualify for admission to a Departmental Honors program and to receive Departmental Honors. Units may set a higher College GPA.
- Units establish additional criteria, including admissions procedures, academic performance standards, and whether there are required courses, papers, or projects.
- Students who wish to earn honors in two different units must complete a distinct body of work for each honors notation.
Exceptions to and substitutions for honors requirements may be made with the approval of the unit's Director of Undergraduate Studies, subject to final approval by the College of Arts and Sciences.
Admission to the program is by application, typically during the spring semester of the junior year. Eligible and interested students should consult the director of undergraduate studies.
