Requirements
- Honors Research.
- Senior Year Honors Research. At least one (1) semester for three (3) credit hours:

- Description
- Students will carry out astronomical research closely supervised by a faculty member in the department. Students will write a research report and give an oral presentation during the second semester of their senior year.
- Repeatability
- May be repeated for a maximum of 6 credit hours.
- Research Report. Successfully write a research report (thesis) and make an oral presentation describing the work to the Department of Astronomy in a minicolloquium.
- Senior Year Honors Research. At least one (1) semester for three (3) credit hours:
- Major GPA. An Astronomy and Astrophysics major grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.300 is required.
- College GPA. A College grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.300 is required.
Exceptions to and substitutions for honors requirements may be made with the approval of the unit's Director of Undergraduate Studies, subject to final approval by the College of Arts and Sciences.
To be admitted to the honors program, students must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.300 and a minimum GPA of 3.300 in their astronomy, mathematics, and physics courses.
