Department of Spanish and Portuguese

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese (HISP) offers courses at all levels, elementary through graduate, in the language and literature of Spain and Spanish America; language and literature of Portugal, Brazil, and Lusophone Africa; and, on the advanced level, Catalan. The department participates in the programs offered by Comparative Literature, Folklore and Ethnomusicology, Gender Studies, Institute for European Studies, Latin American Studies, Linguistics, Medieval Studies, and Renaissance Studies.
