Unique Credit Hours (Double-Counting Courses)
Policy statement
Unless stated otherwise, students may double-count courses taken to fulfill CASE, major, certificate, and minor requirements toward other CASE, major, certificate, and minor requirements. Students, however, must earn a sufficient number of unique credit hours in the overlapping major(s), certificate(s), and minor(s). This policy will be implemented as follows:
- Student must satisfy all requirements for the first degree objective (major, certificate, or minor).
- Student must satisfy all requirements for the second degree objective (major, certificate, or minor).
- The total number of unique credit hours successfully completed by the student for both degree objectives must be equal to or greater than the total minimum number of credit hours required for both degree objectives (as defined by each degree objective) minus six (6) credits.
- 2025-05-01: Change the name from "Counting a Course toward Multiple Degree Objectives." Increased number of hours that can multi-count from 3 to 6. Additional revisions to language for clarity.
- 2016-05-01: No changes from previous version
