The department offers outstanding students the opportunity to pursue important issues and problems in depth and to work closely with faculty in the departmental honors program.
Requirements
- Reading for Honors. One (1) course:

- Honors Thesis. Three (3) credit hours:

- Description
- Honors thesis to be written under direction of a faculty member. Oral examination over thesis conducted by three faculty members.
- Repeatability
- May be repeated once for a maximum of 6 credit hours.
- Thesis Presentation. Write and present honors thesis to be approved by a faculty committee with at least three members.
- Major GPA. A Criminal Justice major grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.300 is required.
- College GPA. A College grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.300 is required.
Exceptions to and substitutions for honors requirements may be made with the approval of the unit's Director of Undergraduate Studies, subject to final approval by the College of Arts and Sciences.
Students who have completed CJUS-P 100, CJUS-P 200, CJUS-P 290, CJUS-P 314 and CJUS-K 300, and who have a College of Arts and Sciences grade point average of at least 3.300, may be admitted to the honors program in their junior year.
