Requirements
The concentration requires at least 21 credit hours (in addition to the courses taken in the core of
the major), including the requirements listed below.
- Fashion Design II. One (1) course:

- Application of design research (historical, cultural, aesthetic, technological, market-driven, etc.) in the process of developing new fashion designs, drawing on both creative and critical thinking. Prior knowledge of materials, clothing construction methods, and tools for visual communication is essential.

- Fundamental principles and techniques for design of accessories including gloves, hats, handbags, jewelry, and masks; manipulation of a variety of materials to produce original accessory design. Studio class.

SOAD-F 408 Experimental Fashion Studio: Draping

- Description
- Fashion design through the use of fundamental principles and processes of draping; manipulation of a variety of materials to produce original draped designs. Studio class.
- Repeatability
- Credit given for only one of AMID-F 408 or SOAD-F 408.
- Concentration GPA, Hours, and Minimum Grade Requirements.
- Concentration GPA. A GPA of at least 2.000 for all courses taken in the concentration—including those where a grade lower than C- is earned—is required.
- Concentration Minimum Grade. Except for the GPA requirement, a grade of C- or higher is required for a course to count toward a requirement in the concentration.
- Concentration Upper Division Credit Hours. At least 9 credit hours in the concentration must be completed at the 300–499 level.

Courses that may apply toward the Credit Hours and GPA requirements in this academic program include all courses listed on the requirement course lists at the time the course was taken as well as any other courses that are deemed functionally equivalent.
This program of study cannot be combined with the following:
- Concentration in Fashion Studies (Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design) (FDSTUDSCON)
Exceptions to and substitutions for concentration requirements may be made with the approval of the unit's Director of Undergraduate Studies, subject to final approval by the College of Arts and Sciences.
