Departmental Honors

Students on Summer 2023, Fall 2023, or Spring 2024 requirements CEUS-HON

Outstanding students are eligible for admission to the CEUS honors program at the end of their junior year.

Requirements

  1. Capstone Seminar. One (1) semester, focused on writing the thesis, completed with a grade of A- or higher:
    • CEUS-R 491 Capstone Seminar in Central Eurasian Studies
  2. Honors Thesis. Complete and defend an honors thesis based on independent research.
  3. Major GPA. A Central Eurasian Studies major grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.500 is required.
  4. College GPA. A College grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.300 is required.

Exceptions to and substitutions for honors requirements may be made with the approval of the unit's Director of Undergraduate Studies, subject to final approval by the College of Arts and Sciences.
