Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design
The Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design offers a foundation of experience with the materials, methods, and histories of making fashion. At the upper level, it splits into two concentrations: Fashion Studio and Fashion Studies. Students who chose the Fashion Studio concentration must pass a portfolio review and complete an intensive two-year sequence of studio courses, which is designed as preparation for a career in commercial fashion design, costume design, or wearable art. Students who choose the Fashion Studies concentration will select from a menu of courses focusing on topics such as history, theory, museum practices, sustainability, and the fashion industry. It is designed as a pathway into advanced study and/or careers such as fashion curation, fashion law, styling, and fashion entrepreneurship.
